Yes, the closure is for extensive renovations...believe all rooms will be refurbished as well as other areas. The Blue Elephant and Spa will remain open throughout. Don't know what the weather is like in January but is gorgeous in May. It will probably be costly though: I booked a 7-night reward stay for a Deluxe King Seaview (as a Diamond) for September 2016 two months ago. The points/night were about 53K. We just needed to add an additional night and the best point rate the Diamond Desk could book (for same room) was now 93K. The possible upgrade is to a Corner Suite so we're hoping!
