Question:

I got to PHL early recently and was hoping to catch an earlier flight to CLT. Scheduled flight left from C and the earlier flight left from F. I checked my bag at F (but got caught up in security and missed that earlier flight).

When I got to my eventual destination (not CLT) my bag was not there. It actually ended up riding on the later direct flight to my destination city. No harm, US delivered my bag to my hotel.

But my question is this...is this a real concern I should have? That oversight would put the bag on the direct flight (PHL-XXX) instead of following me on my scheduled flights (PHL-CLT-XXX). The only issue is that I had to wait an extra 30 minutes at XXX while I had them figure out where my bag really was.
