Seems a lot of posters are still missing the point that the OP is asking about how aspirational BA F is, rather than its affordability or the relative value it offers.
I think that affordability and aspiration go hand-in-hand. You have to have a reasonable expectation that you will have something one day to aspire to it.
For example, I aspire to owning a house (or maybe a very small castle) but do not aspire to owning a palace.
The fact that BA F is available to moderately successful people makes it all the more aspirational in my view.
