Indeed, the picture changes considerably for many (but of course not all) people when you take price out of the equation. The OP has clearly flown F on quite a few carriers, and compared to some of them I guess BA could suffer in comparison, depending on your personal taste.

I haven't flown F on enough different carriers to say whether it is the least aspirational (only BA, QF, SQ and QR for me to date), but if defining aspirational in the sense of trying to do something new, different or particularly luxurious, then for me it would be mid-table, when the overall product is considered.

That said, I'm always happy to fly BA in F (as I don't ignore value) and will hopefully get to try the 787-9 at some point. To me it's a step above all J cabins I've flown, though I know some feel differently. The service is usually excellent IME, which goes a reasonable way towards making up for some other relative shortcomings. I wouldn't mind trying the new AF F product though..

BA has very specific aspirations for their F cabin, and price is a big part of them, given the clear focus they have on seat density and yield. As long as that is in place, they are unlikely to answer the aspiration question (as the OP posed it) positively any time soon.
