Wrong birthday in reservation: consequences?
I'm booking a Delta ticket for someone else with my miles (a speaker at an event that I'm organizing for a nonprofit--definitely not bartering or selling miles). I haven't been able to get the person's birthday, but I'd like to go ahead and book the ticket soon while low-mileage awards are available, and I'm thinking of just making up a birthday.
I'm a frequent flyer, but not on Delta. If the birthday in the reservation is wrong, will it be printed on the Delta boarding pass, or will the TSA agent at the security checkpoint otherwise be able to see the discrepancy? (I'm not sure what information shows when the boarding pass is scanned at security.)
If not, I don't see how this could be an issue, but I want to be careful- it would be mortifying if the speaker got held up at the airport.
Thanks.
