In the past when redeeming flights to BOM we always have to pay more because the cutoff is 2500 miles for RT J at 50K AM and because BOM is 2653 miles it's 80K AM for J.
Now that they are the ones having to give something, they change the cut off to 2750 miles for club points.
So, are the going to align the AM redemption thresholds as well to 2750 miles so that BOM is a 50K AM J return, or is this a truly "have your cake, eat it too, and screw the customer" type of situation?
This is just one example but I'm sure there are many more out there.
2750 is a strange cut-off. My guess is that there are many transit passengers to India, and the incremental fare is very heavily discounted.
3700 is strange too, putting DXB in medium but other Middle East cities in medium-long. My guess is again there are many passengers transiting in DXB.
