I fly this route often and just last night there were 34 names on the UG list so I truly believe the demand is there. What I think turned people off was the half ... way Delta approached this route with constant aircraft swaps and lack of equipment . Way too often I would talk to other flyers who would shell out the 3K they were asking to have a domestic 757 F setup. They got frustrated and started booking EC seats and just enjoy the free booze. Seattle is obviously getting a ton of focus from delta but they missed the boat on this one.
Now we just get those horrible 739s... Sigh
But, that's the whole problem isn't it? To make the premium TCON service viable, DL needs to come close to filling the D1 cabin with paid tickets. It goes without saying that anybody will accept a freebie, but that's what creates the downward service spiral to what has become domestic F.
