I'd disagree. While I don't think massive compensation is required, it's time for Marriott to take some responsibility for their screw-ups.
18 nights & 24K points is a lot to miss, and having to spend over 2 hours w/ Marriott to try & get it resolved takes away time from one's employer or client or family. Nor should the solution be hire a secretary to deal w/ Marriott's screw-ups.
I'm still trying to get points credited for a screw up ($3,200 folio & only received 13K points as a Plat) & have had to send in the folio 4 times w/ it still not being corrected (after taking time from my day to explain the situation 4 times). While I'm not asking for compensation I'm at the point of screaming* credit me the missing points as a goodwill gesture for gawd's sake. One shouldn't have to make 4 phones & send 4 faxes to correct an error!
* I wouldn't scream but I feel like it at this point. The last person said she'd follow up w/ me via phone in 2 days to make sure it was handled. Of course she didn't. Since I just moved & have been busy w/ both work & with unpacking I haven't had the time to call again.
Cheers.
