If Priceline issued two separate tickets, that may not be the case. Call American and ask them them two questions - 1) Do they see your United flights in their computer, and 2) What is the ticket number for their flights. If they do not see the United flights and if their ticket number begins with 001 (the American code), you may actually be OK.
