Even flying CX in D/I class, there be more progress to status when you credit flights to the QF program. Whether you value the benefits of the QF program versus CX, prompts a very quick - YMMV answer. And the un-answered questions (eg. potential changes to AA's program, un-published benefits in CX's program) remain pending.
To start the thread...
One of the anomalies of the QF partner crediting program, is question of how airport to airport distances are calculated. One pair, that causes perhaps the most "raised eyebrows" is BKK-KUL. QF considers this as under 750 though great circle mapping normally indicates slightly more.
Since Cathay now has a 750 mile "break" in point crediting - How many miles does CX think separate the two airports? At 25 points, MH Z/D class fares are reasonably attractive especially when headed elsewhere (eg CMB)
