Only UK residents can open avios.com accounts. If the OP is not a UK resident, he could change his BAEC address to a UK one, otherwise combine my avios may not work.
The alternative is to try IB, but the account needs to be active for 90 days and 1 avios needs to be earned before avios can be moved (which is just about enough time for the OP)
Correct, I am not a UK resident. That's why the requirement for 4 eligible flights for Gold will be difficult for me. Although I fly a lot, I only need to go to Europe once per year. In effect, that's one round-trip (from Asia) transferring in LHR.
