FYI gals in UC believe the policy chg is due to new CEO. I really don't care why but I agree that the loss of protection, if it is ever fully enforced, is a big loss. Even bigger than TODs, status no longer being passed to award flights, etc.
I have also experienced this several times. HUACA fixed it for me each time. This policy was in place before the new CEO (my first exposure to the "new policy on backing up" was a few months back or more). Perhaps there was a delay in communicating this policy to UC agents.

I had an agent quote me the "new" policy and said he really didn't care and would do it anyway for a 1K ^^^
