Its an interesting choice for a number of reasons:
- Originally planned as a Hudson hotel, if they keep the same design/layout/materials its probably the right spirit of what the Centric brand is supposed to be
- Its location is 2 blocks west of the Hyatt Bellevue...which has a different owner, curious if they'll have any pricing wars between them...
- Philly lost the Hyatt at Penns Landing earlier in 2015, so this will hopefully bring back some award inventory to the city
- Its across the street from a Radison Blu, and a block away from a Kimpton Palomar which are probably fairly close competitors to the Centric brand (but it'll be 3 blocks from an SLS...)
That's a nice neighborhood even though it's not on Rittenhouse Square.
