Not answering your specific question, but what is your current lifetime tier points? Would it be worth closing your existing account and opening a new one? You can transfer out any existing avios first and put them back after your new account has opened.
My current lifetime tier points is a measly 130 TP. I had never thought about crediting any flights to BAEC until now.
However, I do have over 200,000 Avios in the account which I have accumulated from credit card spending. So, I doubt whether I will be able to just close this account.
