It has to do with the fact that BA and AA are part of OneWorld, but AS's partnerships with them are independent of an alliance. I just took a trip booked through Delta with a couple of KLM codeshare segments but didn't get any credit from them to my AS account. I still think it doesn't make total sense given that they're still a partner and the flight was paid for, but... ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Also, I've noticed that BA CityFlyer flights aren't in the listed flight number ranges, even though they're a fully-owned BA subsidiary, as QX is to AS.
