I was at IAH early and stopped by the AF office. What I stated about the JV process is what I was told by someone in management there. It certainly makes sense since Club 2000 is more akin to Delta 360 rather than Delta DM.

Whether it actually happens in practice is another matter, which is why this is such an important thread. Thanks to OP for posting! I had the same question and will remember to report back after my Christmastime flight.

This one was booked through AF.com. Others booked through dl.com have shown Club2000 as well. It's just a label glitch, as the system doesn't take this status into account when it comes to seat selection.
