The 72 hour TWOV desk is 100% obvious at CTU, although the last time I was there I was redirected from there to the standard lines for foreign passports. I then had to wait about 15 minutes while an official was summoned, who inscribed my details by hand into a big blue book. But it was no problem at all, just make sure to have a printout of your onward flight details.
