I'll comment on it. A good Navy buddy of mine was stationed at the U.S. embassy in London and lived in a nice two bedroom flat a few blocks off the High Street and the tube stop. I visited him several times and always enjoyed the location.

On the upside: it's fairly convenient to London, especially the north side of town. However the tube ride is a good 15-20 minutes and very, very crowded at rush hour. The High Street is nice with a good mix of upscale restaurants, pubs, shopping, etc. There were always families about with kids and prams and all.

On the downside: I believe it's a fairly expensive part of London to live in. It's on the opposite end of town from the airports if you need to get to them (though I'm sure there is some clever Connex route that I don't know about). The roads are small and traffic can be a bear at times. It's a typical English suburb, not much action if you're into heavy urban scene stuff.
