Crew managers do not get a payment if one of their team gets a golden ticket, that is just a rumour that is going around.

I expect the rumour started because all managers have annual bonuses as part of their total pay packages and so those managers that have a high performing team will get better overall results and this could increase their annual bonus.

It is a pleasure to receive a ticket because it is effectively a well done from a customer that also gets noted on your file. However I find the whole process of some random crew being invited to have drinks or afternoon tea with Executive Club Members and the use of Star Flights fairly demoralising. Nice for those singled out but thousands and thousands of crew get multiple tickets or compliments and it can almost have the opposite effect wanted on anyone not lucky enough to be invited to these events or special flights.
