There are quite a few b & b accomodations in the Rochester area. From Rochester, you can visit all of the Finger Lakes - 30 minutes to an hour away depending on where you are going. It also allows the possibility for theater, museums, galleries in the Rochester area.

In the Finger Lakes region you can also stay in Canandaigua, Geneva, Ithaca, Skanatles, and Penn Yan amongst other possiblities.

Quite a few nice inns are listed in the Innskeepers' Register at http://www.innbook.com/

We've stayed at many of the inns listed and have had some wonderful experiences. Some nice inn's in the area and in the "innbook" are:

Genesee Country Inn - Mumford
Oliver Louds Inn - Pittsford
Morgan- Samuels Inn - Canandaigua
Sherwood Inn - Skaneatles
Rose Inn - Ithaca

Also, according to one web site I found, MacKenzie-Childs no longer offers tours. There is an excellant selection at Parkleigh in Rochester- http://www.parkleigh.com/
