Do you want institutional hotel or a B&B? There are many nice B&Bs in the area, as well as small motels and resorts. From where you are, somewhere alogn Keuka lake or Seneca lake would be well placed.

Be advised that during university event (parents day, reunions, going to school, commencement) weekends of certain major univserities, accomodation can get difficult.

I'd personally avoid Ithaca but then again I spent too much time there.
