As someone who lives in Jakarta, I can second lingua101's statement there. Kemayoran is only a good choice for a visitor if either one of these is true:
- You will have a car. Even taxis could be a bit tricky to find sometimes.
- Your main purpose coming to Jakarta is to attend an event at Jakarta Expo Kemayoran, which is not far (still need a taxi/car to get there)
- Your business in Jakarta requires you to be at Sunter/Kelapa Gading mostly residential areas (but with some businesses most notably automotive)
The Grand Mercure Harmoni, on the other hand, is in quite a prime location. City bus stop is right at its doorstep, and it's not far from action-packed sites in town. I've tried staying at Grand Mercure Harmoni, and although it's no Pullman Thamrin, it's still very decent. No lounge though, sadly.
