Isn't Australia's Diners Club issued by Citi? If so, check if AA is a transfer partner there (it is in Japan, which is also currently Citi issued). It may be an option for you at least until they get a banking partner there.

Edit: Couldn't tell if it's Citi issued, but AA is a transfer partner... albeit at a fairly poor transfer rate (all Diners Australia airline transfers are poor unless the card earns at more than 1:$1, am on mobile and couldn't find that info at a quick glance)
