Using pitch nowadays isn't sensible, it takes no account of the seat width which now varies tremendously on short haul as well as long haul.
How about we continue using pitch so that airlines can't keep making more and more uncomfortable seats resembling sheets of paper in order to boast more and more "knee room". What's the point of all that room when the seat gives you aching everything because it's so sparse?
