I'll agree with your second statement, but statistics aside, from MY personal experience sUA have been the ONLY ac that left me stranded, and that would include sUA RJs

At LEAST one in four overwater trips involved CX or MAJOR delay, again, in MY experience, and ALL sUA.

That said, I took a MAJOR gamble to fly SFO-HKG-SFO on UD over Turkey Day - just hope I don't live to regret it
