In all three cases I was indeed sat in or near the front so guess I would have had my first choice anyway, but I think it was more a symbolic effort to show to a customer that they value their custom.
In terms of whether they were trying to get a golden ticket, possibly, but to be honest, I have had other experiences where CSMs were more obsequious, and it definitely was not the case in any of those three recent trips. In fact, in one of the cases, I think that it is more likely that it was because there was a bit of a medical emergency onboard and I spontaneously went to reassure one of the affected passenger's family member who was understandably very worried, which probably made it a little bit easier for the crew to take care of the passenger himself.
It was probably only a CSM on one of your flights and maybe a CSD/Purser on the other flights unless we are subbing some between the fleets.
Anyway, good that you enjoyed the special treatment and good to hear that so many of my colleagues are giving our GGLs special recognition.
