Despite the sign: "Water bottle $3" in large font in front of the bottles, people kept asking how much the water bottles cost. It was pretty quiet and I was kinda bored, so I started saying "They're $3 each but we have a special price of three for $10." Most people laughed, but one guy (native English speaker) paused and then said "Oh, well, then I'll take three." I quickly said that three would be $9 and there wasn't a discount compared to just buying one bottle, but he was clearly confused by it all. He bought two bottles, and I stopped making jokes.

It's for charity, I'd have taken the $10.
