Sad, but also likely true. The only lost-and-found experience I have to share ended well, but I'm guessing that's because it wasn't a technology item. Last spring I was on a redeye LAX/BWI. To make a long story short didn't get a wink of sleep, and when we landed I sort of shuffled through the terminal like a zombie. Went in the restroom down at the end of the concourse to try to freshen up a little. As I was leaving the restroom, I hear myself being paged through the airport, asked to return to the gate where I had deplaned maybe 20 minutes earlier. Confused, and admittedly a little worried I approach the podium, to be handed my driver's license. Against all of my "travel procedure rules" I must have just shoved it into my front pocket after security, which is a big personal no-no but it was late, and it was the ever-so-friendly TSA at LAX

. Anyways I was told the cleaners found it on the floor under the seats. I would have got a rude awakening when I went to rent a car, and was grateful to get it back.
