And why not consider Asia? I just got back from a great weekend trip to Hong Kong (left EWR Thursday, returned Sunday) and the 44 hours I spent there were wonderful. You could stay a little longer than I did though! I spent about $600 USD for the ticket and $120/night for my room. Got upgraded to an executive suite with a harbor view. Main expense was the shopping. I can't wait to go back! A friend of mine just got back from Europe and said that the flight was 13 hours, this compares reasonably well to the flight to HongKong, 16 hours out, 13 hours back. Re comment above on Cancun - they are absolutely right about this!
