The excitement that folks (especially credit card bloggers) have for Avios as a US Short haul option has over time been lost on me. It would be great if coach fares were actually offered. My searches only turn up FC fares at 3X the points.

So before you jump on the Avios bandwagon, do some research on what is actually available between where you live and where you want to go.
