We arrived at HKG International around 930am, and the CX First Class counters were pretty much empty, so no wait for us.

Because the flight wasn’t until 1:40pm, no gates were assigned yet and we had plenty of time to enjoy The Pier. No new pictures here, but of course we took advantage of having good breakfast plus a massage before the flight.

Seat 2K

I approached the gate 10 minutes before boarding to request moving from 2A to 2K, to which they obliged, after sorting it out for a few minutes. Later on I would find out that F load was just 2 of 6 for the flight (other guy took my 2A seat), which also made for an attentive service, and afforded me a separate bed at 2D made up.

Lovely HK-based crew this afternoon, including the ISM who showed me to my seat. We chatted for a few minutes where I learned she only flies 2-3 long hauls a year to keep her license or something, but otherwise she mostly did office work at CX headquarters.

Ten minutes after a smooth takeoff, it was show time for the crew.

Krug+warm cashew nuts.

Because I wasn’t very hungry, I slightly tweaked my approach to my first meal, opting to go with the caviar service, then the afternoon tea set, and dessert. I accompanied this with Pitch Perfect 2, which was ok-ish, but found the first one better

Caviar service + more Krug!

Afternoon Tea Set

Chocolate pudding, vanilla ice cream, and raspberry coulis

After-dinner pralines

The crew already made my bed at 2D earlier, so after the 1+ hour meal service, finishing the movie, and cleaning up, it was time to get a long nap in. There weren’t any bothersome rough air that we caught on this flight, so it really made for a very pleasant and relaxing flight.

Two hours prior to landing, I asked the crew to wake me up for my ‘bigger’ meal. Opted to have prawn salad and lobster main this time.

Mixed salad, grilled cajun prawn, sliced portabello and balsamic vinaigrette

Stir-fried lobster, black bean sauce, choy sum, carrot and steamed jasmine rice

Overall, another enjoyable CX F flight with a lovely crew and excellent service ^
