Very true. Whenever my parents want to go somewhere the first thing they look for is if they can get there on Westjet. Or conversely they have planned holidays around where Westjet flies when a seat sale came up. I don't think they have been on AC in 15 years, the times they have been unable to get where they needed to go on WS it was on AA or BA.
WS has never given them a reason to fly anyone else.
Westjet is a very good airline for the casual, low value pax and most likely better than AC in this cat. For the FF cat., Westjet can't compete because of their lack of benefits of a true FF program, J class for the high value pax and a partner tie in like A*.
