You can search for Chinese restaurants by cuisine or neighborhood. Just a quick search turned up over 1,663 Chinese restaurants in NYC area with 356 in Manhattan. Why not check out one of the top-rated Chinese restaurants for 2000, Shun Lee Palace, Sweet-n-Tart Cafe, Kam Chueh, Ma Ma Buddha or Grand Sichuan Restaurant (all reviewed on this site), you might find a NEW favorite! Better yet, pick one from Dining for Miles and work on your 14,000 Northwest miles at the same time.

PS I am emailing my headhunter with your question, he knows EVERYTHING about NY. If it's still there I am going to have to try it too. Sounds interesting.
