Best way to truly understand the seats is to go the actual flight on the actual airline and attempt to pick a seat.

The last few years, they are all going nuts reworking 1st/Biz and who knows what seat you might get.

And by the way, the type of plane matters greatly to some of us. When traveling with my wife, I will go out of my way to avoid a 3 or 4 seat together situation. Two seats on one side are worth plenty to us. Almost as good as the older biz seats.

Currently looking at RTW with mostly biz seats. Top of the AVOID list are United with 4 seats in the middle of business class. And to make it worse, some face backwards so you can stare at a fellow passenger for 8 hours.
