The reason we are seeing it on some sites and not others could be because AA has a weekly release/deployment cycle (notice the 1st is Thurs, today is also Thurs), and someone simply neglected to leave the changes out of the release this week for some versions of the site (meaning it was originally planned to go out next week).

Although if confirmed, I would be disappointed, we should all realize that this is really action instigated by BA. And it's unfortunately fairly standard - UA has 25% earning for all of the LH Group members on the lowest fares as well.
I'd personally disagree on your first point and your last-- or in the case of the last "action instigated by BA"-- I'd say more speculative than I'm down for.

So far this is being branded "a mistake" -- but WITHOUT reference to if the mistake was it going up too soon vs. Oct 1st is a mistake vs. a total mistake. So, nothing to be gleaned quite yet.

I personally assume no such thing-- EQM/EQP don't cost BA a penny to give to AAdv members.
