One-Way fares and round trip fares (you'r would be an open jaw) are different.

Try using multi-city to book what you want, or look for it on a travel site like Kayak or google flights. This is called broken ticketing AFAIK (putting one-way fares back to back to make a longer trip). It's totally legal, so make it work and save the money.
