The comments on this topic have really helped me understand the emphasis that Germany, Austria and other European countries place on hygiene, hence insisting on full nudeity in the sauna, however some hotels that ive stayed in recently such as the Frankfurt Hilton insist not onl that you go naked to the sauna but in all the facilities in the nude only wellness area including the Jacuzzi, and all are mixed sex. While slightly out of my comfort zone, I can cope with this as a European male, however people from other countries such as USA or Middle East may not be comfortable, hence I think there should be separate male and female facilites or inleast a particular ladies time ,particularly in the international hotels. If its hygienic to enter the whirlpool naked then why bother wearing shorts or trunks in the pool, I just kind of cant work that one out
