My mom and teenage brother are also flying and booked their own tickets on the same flights. Barring any complications in the next two months, my doctor has cleared me to take the trip. What are the chances of being upgraded to a larger seat or a better location? I am 5 feet tall and this is my second child so I will be showing a lot. I know I should bring a doctors note that OK's me to fly. Is there anything else I can do to increase my chance of an upgrade?
There are several ways to try for an upgrade; none of them assure an upgrade. Getting an operational upgrade for pregnancy is possibly only slightly more possible than flying on one's 21st birthday or honeymoon, meaning not likely at all.
International upgrades would require miles and copayment, or the possibility of a "Load a Factor Based Upgrade" (for money) offered on check-in.
If you can share your actual flight origin and destination, maybe aircraft type, we can offer suggestions about upgrade possibilities, more comfortable seating, etc. E.g. Bulkhead, seat for people with disabilities or special needs, etc.
