My spouse and I flew roundtrip from SFO to New Zealand on Air New Zealand and used our United accounts for mileage approximately 2 weeks ago. I am 1k short of status on United and my spouse is about 4k short of platinum.
We didn't see the credit for the flight show up on our accounts so we called United and were told that we weren't getting credit for the tickets because they were S-class.
We had talked to Air NZ multiple times as we were booking the tickets, at the airport flying to/from New Zealand and reconfirmed that our numbers were on the reservation and we would receive credit for the flights. NO ONE told us our tickets were not eligible for mileage credit.
Anyone have any advice for how to get credit for this flight?
Thanks!
Staff of the selling airline will never, ever know which classes are or are not earning classes on another airline's program. You should have checked with United Mileage Plus, not Air NZ.
Your only hope now is probably to join Air NZ's program and credit to them, not that you will have earned much.
