I kind of feel like anyone who asks, calls, emails, every week for every stay is tacky. If 40 stays a year are business travelling alone, and 5 are leisure with companions, save it for those.
This of course is the ultimate IMO. I'd be very content to be on the CL level 40 weeks a year then have 2 or 3 stays a year in a suite guaranteed (or a low cost purchasing opportunity). I think other chains have something similar but I'm locked into Marriott now for life...
