The moving sidewalks are being removed at EWR as well, and are being replaced by even more expensive food concessionaires run by OTG. The sidewalk is fast if you walk while you are on it. As an octogenarian, I appreciate the assistance in getting from the more distant gates in Terminal C to the Exit area. There has not been a corresponding increase in golf carts to serve the needs of the lame or elderly. This decision was certainly based upon a desire to reduce UAL's electric bill, and to provide more income to UAL through the expensive concessions (which have replaced the familiar name brand food services with unknown OTG names). At one time in the not too distant past, we were promised that prices at EWR would be comparable to outside. Since these food facilities have no outside locatons, there is nothing to be comparable to. I only know that I can't get a Nathan's hot dog any more.
What's next, pay toilets?
