baggage limits on multiple flights and AA Platinum

I'll be flying on a LAN on one ticket from JFK-Lima-Cusco, then another day Cusco-Puno and then from Lima- JFK (NYC). I am told that all my luggage will be under the more liberal limits traveling from the USA. I just booked a separate ticket for a flight within Peru (Puno-Lima) and I am given stricter baggage limits of 2 bags TOTALING 50 lbs.

Question then- is my separate ticket considered to be part of my entire itinerary which gives us extra baggage limits or does each ticket (reservation #) have its own guidelines?

I am also AA Platinum/Oneworld Sapphire and I have been told that I am not able to get preferred seating or extra baggage limits either. The OneWorld /Lan seating policy clearly states that I get preferred seating..

Can someone help me here with the policies?
