Not a fan of this move...

1) Don't like 'em? Don't use 'em. It's not like you're forced to.

2) They've saved me more than once--I've shown up to a gate at 9m59s before departure, just to be told "we were about to give your seat away"--I'd have missed it were it not for the extra time saved.

3) I've had twisted ankles, sore backs, sciatic nerve issues, 'bad bed in China' syndrome and general exhaustion...I love a good, brisk walk, but the walkways are a happy medium between C31 to B22 jaunt and wheelchair service.

4) I don't care what anyone says, they're faster as long as they're not crowded. My 'max speed' is the same if I'm on the walkway as if I'm on solid ground, but relative speed increases greatly.

5) In general, what more does ORD need in terms of food? I've always been content (more than content, actually) with a delicious torta from Frontera or a sandwich from Berghoff, combined with hummus and soup from the UC. Or if I'm really long on time, I've enjoyed sitting down to the Italian place near B19.

...All of the above can be forgiven and forgotten if this 'retail space' leads to an AMEX Centurion Lounge. I've heard the issue with ORD is the lack of space.
