MSP-- you really have to let this one go. Mileage upgrades are NOT the same as instrument upgrades. Period. You have encouraged many people to keep trying when it is (mostly) a futile effort. Stop spreading wrong information please.

Mileage upgrade requires original booking class fare and OP space available to clear into F. End of story.

In this case OP did find an agent that ignored the rules and manually issued ticket but most people won't have that good fortune.
