There is something I'd like you to try - I'd offer to be the guinea pig but I long ago learnt that doing back to backs at OSL is unnecessary when SVG and BGO offer slightly cheaper tickets and foolproof back to backs. Kindly note everyone!!!
The procedure at OSL is to exit the aircraft, go on an upwards escalator. Oslo is unusual in having the Arrivals level above Departures. Then at Passport control ask to go via the Connections route as mentioned in the linked thread above. You then get led down to the non Schengen end of the pier and able to rejoin the boarding area for the service. Do-able in 45 minutes normally.
However I noticed that at least for some gates in Oslo, instead of using the escalator to go upwards, try going beyond the escalator, along the same level of the jetty, to get into the building on the same slope. It's not signposted at the escalator point, but at the door to the building, where jetty and main building connect, there is a sign above the door saying "Flight Connections". Now I don't know if this is a forgotten or obsolete set of signs, or for the few gates that can do both Schengen and Non Schengen departures, but the worst that can happen is that the door won't open and you've lost 30 seconds in having to go back to the escalator. The best is the door opens automatically and you are at the boarding area.
Is this done without clearing security? When I went earlier this month I followed the same initial route as arrivals until I came to a connection security on the left hand side of the corridor after passport control. Security was a breeze, and then I was in the departures area, but had to go through another passport check. Can all that be avoided?
