I've always been able to do this with BA desks, your experience at third party lounges may vary.

The only thing to watch out for is that they don't change your recorded booking card afterwards.

The Finnair site will let you change the stored loyalty card on a booking. I've been told this even works post-checkin but have never tried it - I used to put my CX loyalty on a booking, select seats for free, then switch back to my BAEC number
