I bet if Safeway would have got hacked like Natural Grocers did who then installed MX915's and a brand new pos system in all of their stores back in May and NFC is still on to this day. It didn't happen so Safeway are now laggards without EMV slots at many stores. When I went to Safeway back in August there were no emv slots to be found either. The store I went to wasn't even crappy either, it was quite nice.
