Some stats I was posting on Twitter earlier:
- The NRF's top 100 retailers have a combined ~293,000 locations and $1.8T of US in person retail spend. ~$4.4T total across all US retailers.
- 7 major retail chains owned by 4 companies have EMV turned on: Target, Walmart (+ Sam's Club), Home Depot, Gap (+ Old Navy, Banana Republic). 3 of the 4 companies are in the top 10.
- If all of the top 100 turned on EMV tomorrow and everyone used chip-enabled cards, at least 40% of all US in-person retail spend would be via chip. (Assuming 100% card use and 0% cash/check use.)
How many terminals do you think the top 100 have? I've heard 10 million total across all US retailers.

No idea about Citibank, but the 360 card definitely asks for a PIN at Target.
