Mixing booking classes on Matrix

Hi Experts,

I'm trying to construct a trip to NY next year (March/April). The route I currently have in mind is:

Dublin (DUB) to London (LHR) — Tue, Mar 29
London (LHR) to New York (JFK) — Tue, Mar 29
New York (JFK) to London (LHR) — Tue, Apr 5
London (LHR) to Copenhagen (CPH) — Wed, Apr 6

This is priced at 1207,00 EUR on ITA. I would like to reduce the price a bit further by flying the European legs in economy. However, when using the multi-city option on the Matrix and adding " /f bc=i" only to the legs LHR-JFK and JFK-LHR, it always returns me a full business trip, so also for DUB-LHR and LHR-CPH.

Even by specifying "/ f bc=y" for the first and last leg, it always returns all four flights in business.

Is this normal? Is it perhaps related to the sale ILN8S4T1 / ILR21AP

Fare 1: Carrier AA ILN8S4T1 DUB to NYC (rules)
Passenger type ADT, round trip fare, booking code D, I
Covers DUB-LHR (Business), LHR-JFK (Business)

Fare 2: Carrier AA ILR21AP NYC to CPH (rules)
Passenger type ADT, round trip fare, booking code I, D
Covers JFK-LHR (Business), LHR-CPH (Business)

Total Airfare & Taxes €1,206.43

I found some hits on the forum about mixing the booking classes but not anwser to this specific question/issue. Hopefully someone knows the answer.

Thank you.
Stan
