It only effects if you're on separate tickets, then they won't be able to interline even if you bought the tickets before. In that case you'll need to exit security, wait for bags, goto other airline checkin, drop bags, and reclear security. Nothing to really help expedite it, it is what it is.
It's under one ticket from travel agency but unfortunately just bought today. I'm not familiar with LAX. How do I transfer in between terminals 4 and 5? Is there a need to ride a bus? Or I can just walk with my check bags.
